Happy With Saku For Once

I’ve bitched about Koivu a few times in the past, I’m disappointed that the guy with the most points on the team doesn’t even show up in the top 30 of the league but Saku’s been on a tear this month, he’s now in the top 30 and on pace for his best season ever points and goals wise.

More importantly, he’s scored pairs of goals in a couple of games where the habs weren’t doing well, stepping up and leading as a captain should do. According to all reports everything’s going well for the team off the ice and he’s playing a big part in that. So in the interest of fairness, I’m happy to say that I’m not bitching about him now and I’m impressed with him this season.

And with Carbo’s work, and Higgins and Huet and Souray and Latendresse and Lapierre and Streit. Now if only Kovalev could start feeling excited and motivated like he does in the playoffs, it would be even more fun.

I was just talking to my dad. We both agreed that it was time to join the bandwagon. Even if they blow up later on and don’t go anywhere in the playoffs, it’s still nice to be excited about the habs playing good hockey and winning games.

I’ve been on the bandwagon since after the lockout but even so, for the last few years I’ve been disapointed that their best player is a 60 point guy like Koivu. Now I’m getting on his bandwagon, not just the team’s. Plus, the team is surprising me quite a bit, 5th best record neering midpoint in the season, impressive.
