It Is a Bubble

If I wasn’t getting quite a bit bored with everything Web 2.0 (one version of it anyway), I’d probably try to dig out a few articles I’ve got del.icio.used and bookmarked somewhere, analyse this a bit more, write a longer post, prove my point, etc. Instead I’ll just say this; for Web 1.0 everyone was getting loads of money for dumbass ideas that fell through, in Web 2.0 people are getting smaller loads (but still a lot) of money to all try and make the same idea work before the others do. Smaller loads because it’s less expensive to build, not because the vcs are any smarter about it mind you. As many are going to fail in Web 2.0 as in Web 1.0.

I kinda wish web developers would get the basics down, frankly. a few too many web 0.5 sites out there, as joe clark posted in that rant you linked!
