The dynamic Dans, Cederholm and Benjamin, two of my favorite web people have announced some good news today. A year ago they launched the Cork’d wine community, a beautiful site in trademark Simplebitian style. They’ve now sold the application to Gary Vaynerchuk of Wine Library TV who will keep it going in the same community oriented direction while adding some new features and giving users access to a much improved database of wines.
I’d looooove to know how much that deal was worth. David Carson doesn’t seem to have sold Dropsend yet so that’s another number we don’t have which is too bad because I think it’s a great direction for independent web developers, building fun simple web apps then finding (or building) a team that keeps the site going while moving on to newer things themselves. Kind of a similar spin on what Ev is doing with Obvious.
