Bruce A. Epstein at O’Reilly as a quick recap of the Flash Forward conference, interesting bit;
The web browser is not the end of the revolution. The future is in microcontent browsers like Sherlock, Watson, and Macromedia Central, devoid of intrusive chrome, accessing cooperating Web Services and web-facing databases. Web services like those offered by Amazon and Google are the software components of the future.
I think he as it right although I never like the “The future is” comments, sounds too final and like it’s a replacement to all that came before “is promising to be an important part of the future” is much better but of course it’s too long and has less impact so everyone keeps using “The future is” when something like this comes along.
