Tagging People

Tags are everywhere and they’re fun. Now you can tag yourself and others on Consumating. I don’t really like those friendstery sites but still, this one has fun stuff and includes a lot of interesting trends so I’ve now got a profile and I own the Montreal tag ;).

Évidemment, maintenant que j’ai dit çà c’est “jinxé” et Murphy “will go medieval on my ass”. Mais bon, fallait l’dire.

He ben

Bon.

I know, I’m f0cking late for this. Anyone know of OS X software to do your taxes? So far the only thing I’ve found that works on Macs is Intuit’s online service.

  • The Neanderthal Parallax Trilogy, Robert J. Sawyer
  • Rule of the Bone, Russel Banks
  • Microserfs, Douglas Coupland
  • Survivor, Chuck Palahniuk
  • Pattern Recognition, William Gibson

(Mais ca change à tout moment)

A qui allez vous passer le relais? (3 blogueurs)

Random moments 35, 36 and 37

Hustlers

As I’m walking along my street, I decide to cross over to the sunny side. To do so I have to stop and let by a Cadillac Escalade, the rapper and drug dealer’s truc of choice (on tv anyway). This one sports one of those little pine sented trees hanging from the rearview mirror but it’s striped to the colors of the american flag. The truc stops by me, the passenger’s side window is lowered and a moussed and leather jacketed guy asks me “french or english” and procedes to offer a “Cinéma maison 900 watt Kenwood, ridiculement pas cher, je l’ai gagné à la job pi je m’en débarasse”, said as he points to the back seat where the system lies protected by tinted glasses. “No thanks” and I keep walking up the street, laughing.

We’re everywhere

Sitting in a restaurant, awaiting my dinner partner, I overhear bits of discussions from the next table. The guy is explaining to his date what a blog is. Pretty good description too, going from the diary thing to the “almost journalist” part and the “some have a lot of readers” comment. Later on, the person I was waiting for mentions blogs herself and “that party they were having at Zeke’s” (!!) and how she had instructed her brother, who has a blog, to go there. (He didn’t)

Café Shrink

Sitting, again, in a coffee shop this morning. Writing my comment for Martine’s controversial entry, two guys sitting at a table close by seem to be having a first “patient to shrink” meeting right there. Discussing how he’s “there to help you”, “I’m here to learn about life along with you”, “I don’t have all the answers but feel free to ask questions”, “some shrinks think that they are all mighty but I don’t like that approach, I’m a guy just like you, I happen to have looked for answers you might need”.

Am I missing something?

I know I’m not the most “advanced” Casanova, far from it but, you know, I’ve heard thing, I read Karl. Still, the order and nature of these events surprised me.

Where: Starbucks on Mt-Royal. Around 6pm. Sober people.

  • Hottt woman in tight jeans and white top comes in with hipster type guy with 70s winter jacket, Elvis glasses and tatoo on the elbow.
  • While waiting for a second sofa to free up she slides a chair close to his but mostly sits on his knee. Kissing.
  • Random discussions, I’m not paying attention but they’re speaking pretty loudly.
  • She get the other sofa.
  • Guy: Wanna go back to my place and shag? Girl: Sure!
  • They stay and keep talking.
  • Guy: Ok, gotta go. Time for a quicky? Girl: No, no quickies though.

This is where I don’t get the order of events.

  • A few minutes later, girl pulls out her cell, asks the guy: So, what’s your phone number?
  • Me: whaaa?? (in my head but it almost wasn’t)
  • A few more minutes, they get up, start necking like mad standing in the middle of the place. Walk out.
